Bio

Dr. Louise Owen is board certified in internal medicine and fellowship trained in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism. She joined the team at Florida Diabetes and Endocrine Center, Orlando location, from Baylor College of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, Houston, a state-of-the-art facility nationally renowned for cutting edge clinical trials, technology and results. With special interest in researching, treating and advancing diabetes, thyroid, metabolic bone, lipid, hypertensive, reproductive dysautonomic and prostatic diseases, Dr. Owen comes to Central Florida with the latest techniques in the field of diabetes, endocrinology and metabolic medicine.

Prior to pursuing her fellowship training at Baylor College, affiliated with faculty from the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Owen completed an internal medicine residency at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, MN. She earned her medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine in NY, during which she earned numerous honors and held a variety of teaching positions.

During her pre-med and medical training, including several teaching positions and course development, Dr. Owen conducted award-winning research published in peer-reviewed journals, performed community service and made strides in science and medicine; all earning her an array of awards.

Her advanced, fellowship training and knowledge of the latest diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism diagnostic technologies, revolutionary discoveries and ground-breaking treatment options make Dr. Owen a welcome addition to her patients and fellow physicians.
